Awesome weekend at Bearded Theory with some amazeballs people.. feels like we have been away for ages!!. Meeting and supporting the ‘Bearded Theory School Crew’ at the Rogues Hideout was brilliant with 70 children signed up for the Friday and hundreds passing through with their families on Sat and Sun.
Over the weekend over 200 children and adults have tried penracing; approx 50 What Could I Birds have been hatched – including a spray painted giant one; a beautiful Swan was created from 411 pieces of scrap paper folded by over 80 people; the Bearded School Booklet was born – and they will be travelling to different places all over the UK; over 500 bowling balls were thrown. Plus 2 buckets of chalk were used on the new chalk board with hundreds of chalk creations coming and going over the weekend. We found that Stuart had a secret skill as well as being an amazing artist he is now known as ‘Stuart the Scraper’, that Ian is brilliant at ‘involving others’ especially when it involves cleaning the art board; that Alison has overcome some first time festival fears – and can be relied upon to ‘hanker down the hatches’ – single handedly when the storm is about to hit; and that Kristiana lived up to her ‘young person volunteer of the year award’ for her none stop efforts at ‘getting the job done’ – (and helping everyone else achieve theirs too!) Well done and thankyou to all those involved.. especially the Hero Project team.. Alison Mott, Stuart Dilks, Ian Wilson and Kristiana Groza..
