Deana and Julia are almost ready for their last planned trip to Newcastle, well Gateshead and Newcastle this time.
Today they have been designing a lovely invitation for the people who have booked for the TEDx Newcastle event at The Sage on Saturday 6th October. It promises to be a very interesting day and one which will have speakers inspiring people from all walks of life. Our hope is that getting a personal invitation will mean that they feel welcome to pop over the road to St Mary’s Heritage Centre to see the Geordie Heroes Exhibition.
Arriving on Friday, they will be with their volunteers setting up the exhibition, no easy task as all the exhibits are still in the library on all different floors, engaging with people who may not otherwise have seen the exhibition. So moving them over, setting up our projection equipment to be able to play the short films we have about other Geordie Heroes. Positioning the THINK boxes and Values information so that people can have a final look at them before the exhibition closes on Sunday at 3pm.
Before the exhibition closes on Sunday, there will be guest speakers who will be talking about things that they are passionate about including Sugata Mitra, Valerie Moody MBE and others.
If you are in the area, at the Sunday market by the Quayside perhaps, then you should wander over the river and come and see us. It is worthwhile, we promise. There will be tea and cakes for a small charge provided by the St Mary’s volunteers. Entry is free and you can stay for 5 minutes or longer… we’d love you to come on your own, with friends and family, with children. There is something for everyone.
